As to Simon, maybe having a talk about helping friends? Since Simon is so empathetic, you might talk to him about being a “big brother” to Agotich and how hard it is going to be for her since she’s just moved from Africa, doesn’t know anyone, doesn’t know the language, etc. I find appealing to kids’ empathy usually works.
